My Son’s Homeopathy Story
When my oldest son was 7 or 8, he was given Calcarea carbonica (Calc carb for short) by a homeopath in Winnipeg for his ‘peeing’ problem. Up to that point I had NEVER heard of homeopathy! We were all desperate, though. Night after night of laying down to go to sleep, getting up to pee, no pee, tears, pain, sleeplessness, more tears, still no pee, invasive urinary tests with a final diagnosis of…there is nothing wrong. Are you kidding me?! This kid is punching himself out of frustration with the sensation of having to go pee when he lies down at night before bed!! No prescription medications for that. I suspect both my son and I were written off as hysterical lunatics.
Enter homeopathy… First night on Calc carb? No pain, no urging, no tears…only sleep. WOW! From then on, I was hooked and learned everything I could. The family was slowly weaned off over-the-counter medications and prescription medications and all our acute illnesses became an opportunity to learn more about homeopathy.
If you are a regular newsletter subscriber, you have read my husband’s testimony. His advice? Take Belladonna. For everything. For anything. (Secretly I think he likes to say that because my name is part of the remedy name.) But his first homeopathic remedy? Nux vomica. End of indigestion.
My first homeopathic remedy? Natrum muriaticum or Nat mur for short. Also known as common table salt. I have been on many others since then for acute illnesses and for more chronic issues. What happened on the Nat mur? Looking back since that first remedy, I guess you could say my life changed dramatically! And so did my presenting complaint of eye/skin inflammation (for which I was using a cortisone steroid cream…eek! Around the eyes…not good!).

Yep. You guessed it. Me. And I am thrilled to be part of it. There are some other terrific presenters too, so if you know of anyone new to homeopathy, please let them know about the conference. I will be presenting Your Family’s Homeopathic Medicine Cabinet. My contribution will be to reach out to those who are just learning about homeopathy.
In the 45-minute seminar, you will learn:
- how a homeopathic remedy is made so that it is safe, effective, and non-toxic
- how to use remedies for common complaints like fever, digestive problems, teething, ear infections, vomiting, sore throats, and accidents/injuries
- what books you can buy so that you can keep learning
Questions ahead of time?
There will be some time at the end of the presentation for a couple of questions, but I remember when I was new to homeopathy — I had a LOT of questions! So…if your friends and/or family are newbies and have lots of questions, be sure to let them know that they can send questions earlier if they’d like (email your questions to me at donna@powersofhomeopathy.com) and I will try and work them into the presentation.
