Amaranth Tea, Magnolias and Azaleas

Imagine. A two and a half hour plane ride from snowy Calgary and you can be in Palo Alto, California sitting on a back deck sipping star shaped Amaranth tea with the fragrance of magnolias filling the air (although I do have to confess, the neighbours have chickens…and it smells like that, too!). And where we grow azaleas as house plants, here they are gorgeous hedges.

We are gathering from all over the globe here in Palo Alto for an inaugural symposium called Remedy Autism. There are so many children being diagnosed either on the spectrum or suffering from some form of brain inflammation. As homeopaths, we are working to lend our support to help remedy the situation.

In the News
Measles, measles and more measles. Then the surveys, asking ‘Vaccinate or Not Vaccinate?’ The deliberate polarization of parents is creating fear and hate. Maybe the question the media can ask is ‘Open to Conversation or Not Open to Conversation?’

Parents have been asking ‘What Can I Say?’ I wish I had the words to tell you what to say but I do not. What I can offer though are some resources for you…reliable links to reliable websites where medical doctors, immunologists and researchers will give you information that may be helpful to you if/when you are in conversations with others. This is possibly one of the hardest journeys this generation will face as the health of our children is critical. Never before has there been so much chronic illness. What is happening?

Because I had some time last night, my colleagues and I watched a movie called Bought. This movie is free online if you sign up with your email from February 20th through March 6th, 2015. I would highly recommend this as one way to learn about the various issues.

The only thought I might have is that when we meet with someone who says something that creates anger or fear in us, we have an opportunity to have the conversation within us first. What do I mean? Take time to move the conversation that is in your head, out onto paper. The most important conversation you can have is the one within.

Before lining up the arguments, the reports, the research and the retorts to support your choice and ask that another person listen rationally, listen first to yourself. See if you can love yourself and your choices that you have made. See if you can find some peace within yourself before you reach out to someone else with information that may be very new to them.

Sometimes I use a journaling technique where you use your dominant hand for one side of an argument and the non-dominant hand for the other side. Using questions is often the best way to start. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. You might think at first the ‘answers’ you hear in your head are ‘crazy’ but try to leave the judgements behind and trust the process.

How to Begin?
Take whatever it is that someone has said to you. e.g. “How can you call yourself a responsible parent? A responsible parent vaccinates for measles.” Write that out in your dominant hand.

Now…put your pen or pencil in your non-dominant and write the first thing that comes to your mind…without judgement. That’s the hard part! (trust me, I’ve been there with the judgement…it’s easy to discredit what thoughts come to you as being dumb, crazy, made up. Just trust the process.) Your non-dominant hand response might be “I am a very responsible parent. A responsible parent…” and so it goes. Your answer will be different than mine or someone else’s. This is where your own wisdom will shine through. You will hear what you need to hear from the expert on you and your child…YOU!

See what happens. Rather than firing off a letter in the ‘heat of the moment’ or posting on Facebook, write with yourself, for yourself first. Let me know what happens.

In the meantime, check out the free e-course Measles Essentials. Register today for some tips. This e-course will also give you a very good idea of what to expect from the 12-week e-course Vaccine Free: Now What?

The outbreaks of infectious illnesses are going to continue happening in the vaccinated populations and in the vaccine free group. Homeopathy can be incredibly useful for both prevention and supportive self-healing. Find out how.

Big plus: when you sign up for the Vaccine Free: Now What? e-course, you can be part of a supportive community of parents who have also taken the course. Watching moms gain confidence with every fever and acute illness, sharing the worries and celebrating the successes makes my heart sing! Yours will too.

We are in this together!

Yours in health and healing,
Donna
