I remember when I first started putting my kit together over 35 years ago, long before I studied homeopathy professionally. Like so many people, I began with a small container, nothing fancy, just a simple box to keep my first few remedies together. But it wasn’t long before my collection grew, and the hunt was on for something bigger, better, and more practical to house my ever-expanding remedy kit.
If you’re just starting out, or you’ve been at it for a while and your current storage solution is bursting at the seams, you’re in the right place. Finding the right homeopathic medicine storage box isn’t just about staying organized, it’s about protecting your investment and keeping your remedies potent and effective for years to come.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through some of the best homeopathic remedy storage solutions to suit every stage of your homeopathic journey, along with some essential tips on how to store your remedies safely so they’re less likely to become antidoted.
Boxes, pouches, drawers, cases – large, small, convenient and so many more options. Where to start?
What is important for Homeopathic storage?
Homeopathic remedies can be antidoted – not easily, but they can have their resonance nullified by strong odors especially.
Where to store your remedies:
- Store away from strong smells. It is important to keep your remedies in an area that is free of:
- essential oils, especially those that are highly aromatic
- tiger balm, products like Vicks here in NA (eucalyptus)
- coffee beans
- aromatic spices
- household cleaning supplies
- Store away from Wifi and your router; collections of wires or electricity
- Avoid extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Avoid direct sunlight
Keep It Handy, Keep It Safe
When it comes to storing your remedies at home, convenience and accessibility are key, but so is keeping them out of reach of little ones! Kids are naturally drawn to those sweet sugar pills, so finding that balance between easy access for you and a safe spot away from curious hands is important.
Here’s what to look for in a good home storage solution:
Easy to access
You want to be able to find and grab the right remedy quickly, especially in those moments when someone needs it fast.
Stackable
As your collection grows (and it will!), starting with a storage system that allows you to add more boxes easily will save you a lot of hassle down the track.
Readable labels
If your container stores remedies on their sides, great — the labels are easy to read at a glance. If your box stands them upright, pick up some small round sticky labels for the tops of the tubes so you always know exactly what you’re reaching for.
Your Homeopathic Travel Kit: Don’t Leave Home Without It
Whether you’re heading off on a family holiday, hitting the hiking trails, or just keeping a kit in your child’s school bag, a dedicated travel remedy kit is something you’ll wonder how you ever lived without.
Here’s what makes a great travel kit:
Sturdy and tough
Your travel kit needs to be able to handle being tossed into backpacks, bounced around on hikes, and generally put through its paces. Look for something solid that won’t crack or pop open easily.
Compact and packable
It should fit comfortably into a suitcase, daypack, or handbag without taking up too much precious space.
Enough room to matter
Aim for something that holds at least 10 remedies as a minimum, but the more the better. Having a well-stocked kit on hand means you’re prepared for whatever comes your way.
Homeopathic medicine storage box resources
Here are some handy sources for kits that I discovered while searching for the ‘perfect’ solution to my ever growing pharmacy and personal stash.
ETSY
So many options on Etsy. I was delighted. I looked over many of the storage solutions and I love all the creativity! Of the many that I found, here is the one seller that I found had consistent reviews, prompt replies and reliable delivery. The designs are well thought out, practical and in addition, made with fabrics that are beautiful!
EliXirAtelier from Etsy has great reviews. I have not ordered from her, but I will very soon. Pretty, practical, portable and you can customize for the number of remedies that need to be stored.
The pouches and storage options are designed with Boiron tubes in mind.
BOIRON
Excellent reviews for this case that will hold 16 remedies. You could design your case to suit your family needs while travelling. For example, if you are travelling to a part of the world where traveller’s diarrhea is a strong possibility, then you would want more than one remedy for digestive upsets. Or if you or anyone in your group is sensitive to sunstroke, you may want more than Belladonna in your kit.
Boiron Family Storage Units – Stackable
This is a very good option for those who have more than 20 remedies and who are likely sharing their remedies with others! Two drawers with room for 44 remedies in each drawer. One of the reviews states that they have 8 of these units – that is a lot of remedies!
Remedia Pharmacy in Austria
One of the options you can get with Remedia, is the radiation protection. They offer many sizes, and many options for wood, fabric, microfiber and aluminum with teeny tiny vials that would certainly allow you to travel with many remedies without taking up much space in your suitcase.
Some of the difficulty with Remedia is that you are unable to see the actual vials in the storage case so it can become confusing to figure out drams, grams etc. You will have to contact the pharmacy and ask them what the size of the vials would actually look like.
Olive + Oak Homeopathy Storage
If you love the look of wooden storage that pays attention to aesthetics, I would, just from the look, feel and introduction to the site, recommend Olive + Oak Homeopathy Storage. There is a story behind the product, which I love.
If you find a storage unit/case/box that works really well, do let me know. I’ll pass on the information to our community who have quickly outgrown their own boxes! Tell us what you appreciate about the design, the convenience, the cost etc. A review with pics would be wonderful.
