In April 2014, I covered an outbreak of measles in Calgary with a blog. I chose a provocative title…and…got slammed publicly for it! This was my first lesson in speaking out about infectious illness and homeopathy, informed consent, and the right to choose.
And this was my first experience of the abuse that gets hurled at those who dare to challenge the authority! I was devastated. My hubby, who has an absurd sense of humor, helped me through it. I have a much thicker skin now!
Parents of high school kids were surprised and faced choices of quarantine and/or vaccination boosters. In that situation, the teens were told they had to be vaccinated or they couldn’t go to school. So patients of mine took the vaccine only to be told they had to stay home from school, anyway! For those high school kids who were vaccine-free, it was a challenging decision. Be sure to read it again for all the details on how to research the vaccine information and adverse reactions preparation. Be informed!
There will be more outbreaks…in the vaccinated population and in the vaccine free group.
Keep calm and make wise choices
An NIH article, explains a measles outbreak in a vaccinated school population. Here is an abstract of the findings:
“An outbreak of measles occurred in a high school with a documented vaccination level of 98 per cent. Nineteen (70 per cent) of the cases were students who had histories of measles vaccination at 12 months of age or older and are therefore considered vaccine failures. Persons who were unimmunized or immunized at less than 12 months of age had substantially higher attack rates compared to those immunized on or after 12 months of age. Vaccine failures among apparently adequately vaccinated individuals were sources of infection for at least 48 per cent of the cases in the outbreak. There was no evidence to suggest that waning immunity was a contributing factor among the vaccine failures.”
So, whether vaccinated or not, the reality will be that many kids will get measles.
Homeopathy can be used to help support healing and prevent complications, but before the outbreak happens (they will happen), be prepared. Do your research now so that you can be confident of your decision for your child when the outbreak happens. There will be pressure to vaccinate, quarantine or both and you will want to be well informed about why you are choosing what you are choosing for your family.
